Cindi Spence Matt has been an attorney in Wright County, Minnesota for 15 years.  Cindi has tried many cases in district courts throughout the State of Minnesota, to both judges and juries.  She has successfully resolved hundreds of cases throughout her 15 years of practicing law.  Randi A. Setter has been in the legal profession for 5 years, serving as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Stephen Halsey in Wright County District Court.

Some of Cindi's most notable achievements include the following:

• Guardianship and Conservatorship: Winning contested, document intensive case where client successfully petitioned for the appointment of a guardian and conservator for his elderly father, who was being financially and emotionally exploited by his young female caregiver.  The caregiver was eventually prosecuted by the Attorney General for financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

• Guardianship: Successfully opposing a petition for guardianship brought by client's sisters.  Client was suffering from the beginning stages of early onset Alzheimers, but was able to manage nicely with the assistance of her husband of 20 years and other alternatives to guardianship which she had in place.  Sisters petitioned the Court to have them appointed as guardian, instead of client's husband.  Court dismissed sisters' petition after several days of trial.

• Guardianship:  Successfully opposing the petition of a daughter (who had statutory priority as mom's Attorney In Fact and Health Care Agent, but who was abusing her authority under those documents) to be guardian for her mom, and instead getting a neutral professional guardian appointed to make medical decisions for an elderly woman with Alzheimers. 

• Guardianship: Successfully obtaining a guardianship for out-of-state clients' of their 11 year old nephew, who was living with his abusive uncle after his mother had died.

• Civil Rights Litigation: Successfully obtaining a settlement for a client who was subjected to the humiliation of an unreasonable full body cavity search by a sheriff's department.

• Construction Litigation: Appointed by Sherburne County Court to act as Special Master to enforce a settlement agreement in protracted construction litigation.

• Insurance Coverage: Successfully obtained full insurance coverage for a client whose insurance company had denied his claim under an accidental dismemberment policy, when he had developed an infection that led to a double amputation of both legs.

• Adoptions: Successfully completed many step-parent adoptions.  Every adoption is a special for the parties involved and Cindi is happy to assist and be a part of each family's special day.
